This movie is story about the sinking of Titanic in 1912. The sub-plot however is about two lovers who meet on the ship. Jack Dawson(Leonardo DiCaprio) finds Rose(Kate Winslet) commiting suicide and he saves her. Rose is a upper class girl who feels trapped in her life style. Jack is third class steeridge who teaches her to live a little. They become lovers the night that Titanic sinks. Being on a ship doesn't keep them from making sweet love in the backseat of a car. Anyway, there are two opions of this movie. 1.(The girl's opion)It was a great movie and I loved Leo! 2.(The boy's opion)It was a terrible movie and I hated Leo! My opion is that it was a good movie but the love plot in the movie was a generic one. It could have taken place anywhere. I didn't hate Leonardo DiCaprio in this but his character was just a normal person. I did feel bad for him when he died because he kept saving Rose from every possible danger in the ship and HE was the one to die. At least she changed her name to Rose Dawson, that's the least she could have done. The dumbest part in the whole movie was when the old Rose threw the blue-diamond into the ocean at the end. Everyone said, "It was a sacrifice to her undieing love." Well I think that was extremely stupid. If that old lady didn't want to become filthy rich then at least give it to your granddaughter who's been taking care of your crusty self all these years. I personally think she should have fell off the edge so she lived out the life Jack wanted her to but still died in the freezing ice like he did. Anyway, I thought it was a great movie with great special effects but would have to single out the last hour(the sinking part) to have made the movie for me. |
